This award was created to encourage volunteer involvement at the district level, and recognize the adult volunteers that complete specific requirements to move the district forward. What is a District? It is a geographical area determined by the council executive board to help coordinated events and information and help units succeed. Who is the District? Every unit leader, parent and Scout is the District! Every volunteer serving on the district committee is also registered in some leadership position at the unit level. The district operates like a "Co-op" of the units so without unit representation or involvement the district cannot succeed in delivering a successful program and expanding Scouting. Anyone can be a member of the district committee, just contact one of the key three listed on the district page!
